I am not concerned by this. I imagine that incidences have been caused by Pilots loosing their specs and this is fundamentally the same kind of issue.

A potential safety issue but not one that can't be mitigated by proper risk management (ie check you have your spare specs, check your limb is properly attached, make sure co-pilot is ready to take control)
