It really depends on what route and what dates the award is requested. If it's high season then that could take a while to clear up (even till 72 hours prior to travel).

What you could do is use tools like KVS and etc. to check up on the availabilities of the seats in J, C or (D if applicable) and see if there are unsold seats that will clear up. If it's already overbooked or close to fully booked then it's unlikely you will have it cleared.

You can nag them about if by calling everyday and see if it got cleared. It has worked well in the past from personal experience. I believe they do clearings at 4pm every day.
