Get the tube from Heathrow to Embankment or Temple (change at Hammersmith). Lunch at the Savoy Grill (you'll need to book). Leave your bags in the cloakroom at the Savoy. Walk up through Covent Garden to Tottenham Court Road or Holborn. Tube or bus to St Paul's. Walk over the river to Tate Modern and along the south bank of the river to Westminster Bridge. Walk over to Parliament Square, up Whitehall to Trafalgar Square and back to the Savoy along the Strand. Collect your bags and back to Heathrow (the chocolate shop at the Savoy is amazing if you need some souvenirs).
N.B. if you prefer to get the Heathrow Express for ten times the price (off peak), a cab from Paddington to the Savoy would be a little under £20 or take the Bakerloo Line to Charing Cross, from where it is a short walk.
So folks - here is where I landed:
I will take the Paddington Express and store my rollaboard at the left luggage. I'll take a cab to Le Caprice for lunch. From there, I will pick up the suggested tour by mgiarc without the lunch at Savoy; however, will check out the chocolate shop

Now I wish I had a chance to shower and change before I hit the city but I don't think there is any way I can take advantage of the lounges given I'll head straight to immigration. Correct?
