OP said he wasn't happy with WTP so crew were clearly just trying to be nice. Choice is risk a customer saying they want to offload themselves at the end of boarding or move them to CW.

The issue here wasn't the lack of CW catering, it was that nobody bothered to go and get the OP a meal. Plus I'm pretty sure that they could have found a CW meal.

Difficult situation and I don't really know what the answer is.
