I checked-in at the desk in the garage at DTW. It took the agent and the Red Coat about 5 minutes to generate a boarding pass.
I then asked if I was on the upgrade list. The agent quickly said "Yep!" and I said "Can you tell me where?"
It took 15 minutes for the agent and Red Coat, including a call to corporate, to determine that I was #9 on the list.
I made my way to the gate where I was #5 on the list.
I boarded w/ SP and my boarding pass made the bad beep, instead of the good beep. I handed the BP to the GA and briefly explained what happened.
She pulled my name up on the computer and said "...and they still didn't do it right" in regards to the check-in agents. She kept trying to enter my boarding pass and the computer kept saying "Segment already completed" or something.
She printed a new boarding pass and it scanned just fine.
Who knows.
