If you fly SWISS I think you're even better off signing up for an A3 card as even the cheapest K and L fares earn at least 500 miles per segment, or 50% accrual on long haul. A3 have no intentions to end their *G loophole, particularly since it's making them TONS of money in credited mileage.

As for TK, yes they still match but it's become harder to maintain your status since they "enhanced" many of the booking classes to 25% earnings. It only makes sense to keep TK as your program if you fly them in Business on a fairly regular basis.

SAS have also jumped the bandwagon of cheap *G cards as Diamond members are now able to give away a free Gold card to a member of their choice. It doesn't have to be a family member, and as a result you can buy yourself a SAS Gold card on the "black" market for around €300-400'ish. It's also possible to reach SAS Gold for less than €1000.

Of course this raises the question: Why even remain loyal to Kaiserhansa, a company who clearly don't give a crap about loyalty?
