I tried through my ambassador to arrange airport transfer from JFK to the Westin Jersey City Newport, but the hotel concierge told her that they don't do that, and that I would have to arrange it directly with a limo company. They would only be able to make arrangements from the hotel to the airport, but not the other way around. Since this is the first time I am encountering this, I was wondering if this is common in other starwood establishments, as I have never encountered it before.

Alternatively, couldn't ambassadors be enabled/empowered to make use of alternative means to arrange such transfers where the hotel is unable to do it, e.g. through the concierge of another Starwood hotel that may have such arrangements in place?
