The return: SIN, ZRH, YUL, YYZ

So off we went back to Changi. With lots of time before our late evening departure we decided to check the whole place out. This is the butterfly garden:

It's open to the outside air and in the centre is a case where they raise the actual butterflies:

For some reason there were floral models of monuments scattered through the airport. Are these a permanent feature?

We then headed for the main Silver Kris lounge, which is only accessible to business or first passengers (there is a separate gold lounge for *A golds, we didn't check it out because this lounge was so good).

No inside pics I'm afraid, I was a bit too shy to go wandering through with the camera, but it is an outstanding lounge with vast space and a huge food and drink selection.

This was my favourite!

Back on board the plane for the flight to ZRH. Beverages here. These seats were good for a couple, but I found them a bit odd to sleep on. There was plenty of space, despite some bad things I've read about them I had no problems with the toe box and I'm tall. But the firmness of the seat seemed to change at times, getting soft and then firm again.

Swiss chocolates, yes please.

And finally back in Zurich where unfortunately "Zurich" was booked and I had to make do with a rest in "Basel"; Mrs. Yhm had slept better than me on the plane so stayed up to work in the lounge. A weird detail, someone had written a telephone number in pen on the back of the piece of chocolate left on the pillow. Bizarre. No, I didn't try to call it. I'm assuming it was someone's note-taking from a previous stay...

Around noon it was off to the lounge to await departure. The lounge has nice views of the tarmac and landscape.

On board our plane. This was starting to look familiar...

ZRH from the air:

A perch appetizer:

Followed by coq au vin. This was really great, moist chicken and a very tasty sauce beneath. Ate it all and was very full.

And back to snowy Montreal.

That is our plane from ZRH lifting off for its return flight.

Took this from the MLL lounge where we were waiting for our onward leg to YTZ, which Mrs. Yhm booked using Aeroplan miles after we landed. I was amazed at how easy this was: a quick phone call and we were booked with two one way reward tickets leaving in two hours for Toronto island airport. It was an interesting flight: obviously set up to compete with Porter's service on that route, there were snack and free drinks, including beer, wine and cocktails, not something you get normally on a 1hr Air Canada domestic! We had a nice view of the Toronto skyline coming in for landing:

And then into a cab for the 40 minute drive to Hamilton. All in all a great trip, only wish we had more time. Thanks for reading!
