I agree that the more it goes, the more products tend to be different according to the London airport you use BA to/from.
By and large, in terms of onboard service, LCY > LHR > LGW in both Y and C/J. Of course, in terms of the lounge situation whereby LHR > LGW > LCY (no lounge).
I'm not entirely sure how far BA wants to go in that differenciation. I'm sure that there is a reason and benefits to it, but I also believe that inconsistency has a cost in terms of reputation and potential custom loss.
