Since we thought it was unfair to advertise prices online that are not actually bookable the whole conversation escalated to a supervisor level. Unfortunately, this supervisor was so rude on the phone and so unhelpful that I will probably never ever think about flying with BA again.
Nothing to do with PayPal vs Amex, but maybe a case of False Advertising? Tried to book several BA holidays on ba.com over the last few days. Picked a destination, prices then shown for each day in August, some of them 75% less then others. Whenever I selected one of the cheaper departure days, to every destination, the next screen popped up " checking price and availability" , then " that price no longer available, now 300%". I never once got near the price for the day on the month's daily spread, so why continue to show them? Voted with my feet.
