What if your original flight is outright cancelled as a part of a schedule change?

I'm waiting for my nov. 4 HKG - NRT flight to get cancelled as a part of Delta's Asia/Pacific changes. I suspect I will be re-booked to HKG-SEA or KE on Nov 4, but would actually like to come back on Nov 2nd and possibly Nov 1st. Would they be flexible?
