Due to a sudden family event, later this week I'll be flying YVR-YYC-EWR on AC, then EWR-BFS on UA (all on the same ticket). I'll return at the end of August.

My (Canadian) passport expires in December 2014. Will this pose any hassles for AC officials or customs agents when I'm travelling? (Some family members have told me that a passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months into the future for when you travel...)

Don't want to go through the hassle of getting a rushed passport unless I have to this week, on top of everything else.

Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
