The real problem here seems to be that you didn't wait for a confirmation
from BA that your booking had been made, giving you your locator (booking reference). You seem to have abandoned the booking process when you (wrongly) thought that payment had been made without getting confirmation from BA that the payment had been made and that all was OK.
