Ok, but if you are searching, use the word 'lounge' rather than club, nobody calls them clubs.
Situation #1: I am an AA EXP (Emerald OneWorld) and an Admiral's Club member (FWIW) Travelling with two children on BA from LHR-BCN next week. I am using BA Avios points in First/Business (Club Europe). I do not have any status on BA
Your flight will depart from Terminal 5 at LHR - which only has BA operated lounges.
Assuming you are not connecting from a BA First class service same day, the lounges relevant for your question are the Galleries First (F lounge) and the Galleries Club (Business) lounges - I know that has 'club' in its name, but nobody calls them 'clubs'.
How you have paid for the tickets is irrelevant.
BA does not have 'First' on shorthaul, Club Europe is a business class service. (And it is a shorthaul business class service)
If you are all flying Club Europe you will all qualify for the Galleries Club lounge.
You yourself would qualify for the Galleries First, but with one guest. In the height of summer holidays, everyone will be trying to persuade the lounge guardians to let more people in. Quite correctly the will stand their ground.
Given that you all qualify for GC lounge access, and that two of you would qualify for GF, you could ask - but expect no. You would be asking for the rules not to be followed.
Situation #2: I am travelling from BCN-LHR-LAX the following week, and my wife will be joining for the trip home (lucky gal will have been in BCN ahead of us

). We will be travelling on BA for the BCN-LHR leg, then on American for the LHR-LAX leg.
As you suspect, into T5, and out of T3.
Your luggage will be through checked to LAX.
You will land, follow signs for 'flight connections', (NOT baggage reclaim).
Down to a bus, over to T3 (all of this is airside).
You and your hand luggage though a security check point.
Into T3 departures.
Questions:
1) will my children and I have access to the BA lounges for our LHR-BCN leg? I read on the club master thread no/possibly (of course I may have mis-read the initial posts) but on OneWorld's site it says yes - though with one guest.
SEE ABOVE
2) how lenient are the BA clubs to allow for one adult bringing in two young kids (4 and 7) - as I believe rules state one guest only
SEE ABOVE
3) on the connection in LHR for the BCN-LHR-LAX, how valuable would paying for AA's Five-Star Service be? I ask here since my beginning route is BA and some of you may have experienced value
WHAT IS AA's FIVE-STAR service?
Very much doubt you will need it, due to transfer route I doubt it will even be available to you - but I'm not sure what it is.
4) for question #3 it appears we arrive at Terminal 3 and depart Terminal 5 with a connection time of approx 2 hour 20 minutes. Is it conceivable that it takes 90 minutes between terminals (read it on AA's site IIRC); thus, the Five-Star Service would be valuable to avoid stress/hassles.
That's enough time you don't need anything special.
5) I would greatly assume BA and AA representatives work well together for Five-Star service in LHR and connecting flights
Assuming you are through ticketed, if anything goes wrong they will sort you out. And as your onward flight is AA, AA have a policy to re-accomodate even on separate tickets I believe.
