You can ask BAEC to fax you a confirmation you are gold (they can't do email) and you can present this to the lounge reception.

I don't have a fax machine, so when I was flying out the day after I reached Gold, I simply started to explain the situation and they let me through. So I guess it depends who you get at reception.
