I would think you want to be west of ~Topanga Canyon before it gets too late. West of there traffic shouldn't be too bad on a Sunday morning.

Again, I would place a higher priority on spending time in Santa Barbara, California, but that's me. If you do wish to take a drive, I'd like to second the above recommendation. There are other places in the Santa Ynez Valley, too. It's not just about Solvang, California. You will be driving, but there are neat wineries if that's of interest. You could pick up some nice bottles to take back to your hotel in Santa Barbara.

I've been to Neptune's Net! But that makes me wonder what kind of lunch restaurant is being sought out. What kind of place are you looking for, SBtD? Are you after scenery, food quality ...?
