HitandRun, thanks for the info. It sounds like your typical packing is similar to mine. And coincidentally enough, I actually just purchased a starter pack of the Eagle Creek Spectre packing folders. It comes with one 18" folder, and what they call a medium pouch and a small pouch. I haven't figured out how I'm supposed to use the pouches yet, but I've already done a test run on the folder and I'm a believer.
I think my packing plan will be to put any work shirts, pants, etc in the packing folder and then put the folder within the compression straps in the Tri-Star. May be able to fit work out clothes in there as well. Center will be for purely for work stuff; I'm a commercial appraiser so typically have a clipboard binder for the field, measuring wheel, power chargers, and about 50% of the time will take my laptop if I need to work in the hotel. Will also throw my clear liquids quart in there for easy access through security (bought a clear pack from REI that looks promising; of course literally anything would be an upgrade from the ziplock bag I've been using!).
The last compartment will hold workout shoes, dry toiletry bag (bought one of the mini REI bags, I forget what they call it), and any clothes that I couldn't fit on the other side (I'm thinking socks, underwear, workout gear, etc).
Have you found your able to fit a jacket into the Tri Star in addition to the regular stuff? I'm sometimes out in the weather and this is why I'm still wondering if the Air Boss would have covered me better since it has a little more space. But like I said in a previous post I think the Tri-Star should cover me 90%+ of the time. Especially if you're saying you've gone up to 4 nights, which would be a max trip for me, at least in my current line of work.
Looking forward to seeing that navy blue in real life!
