It is the gate agent and the flight attendant that should have stopped the person who brought on the extra carry-on baggage, not me. As a first class passenger, I should be able to carry on my bags as long as I am within the permitted amount.

Why are your bags more important than the next person's? Given that there really isn't enough space in the bins in first if everyone stowed 1 piece of carry on plus the 4 personal items for row 1, exactly where do you propose your bag goes?

The crew will absolutely find you a space for your bag wherever the gate checked/valet bags go. Of course, in many cases they will move bags around or find something back in coach and that's great but not guaranteed.

I've seen the last FC passenger come on and there be lots of bin space and I've seen the complete opposite. Just because the bins are full doesn't mean that people brought on more than they are allowed.
