Chase (and other credit cards) offer additional *collision* coverage. I'm talking about *liability* coverage. You know - you get in an accident - and someone else gets hurt - and the injured person sues you. If any credit card covers that - I haven't heard about it.
I wouldn't count on anything these days without reading my health insurance policy. As for Canadian "Medicare" - I know the coverage outside Canada is a lot less than it used to be (we get lots of snowbirds here in Florida - and they complain about the reduced coverage). But I have no idea exactly what the coverage is.
I know. Insurance is boring. But I'd rather spend a couple of hours being bored before a trip than being aggravated for months after or worse because I didn't have the right insurance. Robyn
P.S. If you wind up wanting to rent a car - you'll have to get an international driving permit as well before you leave for your trip.
