So it would be great if you have the patience to post the genuine, non-mistake fares you have used or seen which match the Rangooners. But first-class, not "premium" - and looooong haul on top-rated carriers.
The trip I'm currently on, though more expensive on a dollar-per-mile-flown* basis than the ex-RGN I booked, feels much better value (better planes, same or better carriers, better timing; both had a mix of J and F). It was booked on a sale fare directly with the airline.
* due to the backtrack to Tokyo. On a pure start-to-end, great circle distance basis, I suspect it is not that different.
