I would have purchased about 8 months in advance (so, thats Oct 2013) and the price was USD645.

Today, some search engines will reveal a current day price (if you are selective) of AUD 723 (for Nov2014 availability).

Considering you can do Air Asia for $39++, it's not a flight I could justify doing every day of the week.
But great for a splurg - ie my birthday (actual day).
