Could this be a win-win?! It sounds from this discussion like people from both coasts would buy these flights at times, and it would obviously increase aircraft utilization. So many aspects of our lives now operate 24/7... maybe the time has come for westbound flights to too.

It would be fun to see this as a poll question -- something along the lines of "how often would you...?" -- hopefully with a clever humorous option too.
