I've had to book in Club one way on that route for the Paris DO as no economy availability on flight I want but seriously considering cancelling, purchasing a Hand Baggage Only fare for £122 and using 4,500 Avios to knock £30 off that price. Even a cash booking for c.£220 in Club seems better value than the 9,000 Avios.
I don't really understand the logic behind that? So you currently have a CE flight that cost you 9000 avios + £25, but you want to swap it for an ET flight that costs you 3500 avios + £92. You'd effectively be paying £67 for 5500 avios (so 1.22p per avios) and being in a lower class (even though the difference is negligible), so unless you need the tier points, is it actually worthwhile?
