Can I get a stopover in London en route to Dublin?
Hi folks. I'd appreciate your help here...I have checked out AC's website and can't find my answer. (And "we anticipate your wait time to be between 39 and 58 minutes" on the AC reservations line left me cold!)
We are considering a trip to Ireland and England. Flying to Ireland is much cheaper (YHZ-DUB), even if we route through London (which most AC flights to Dublin do).
Will Air Canada allow us a stopover in London? If so, how long can it be? 48 hrs would be fabulous, and 72 would be perfection. And if this wonderful thing exists, how do I get it? Book with a real person?
We planned to fly from Dublin to London r-t but it's more expensive that it was last time we did it (it was a RyanAir #5 fare--still pretty proud of that one--and if I recall correctly, we were travelling with carry-on only in those pre-kid days, so no checked bag fees). The cheapest I've found for the four of us next May DUB-LON r-t is about $700 total, as we will undoubtedly need to check a bag or two.
So, making use of that necessary evil, the plane change, and turning it into a stopover would make a huge difference to us.
Thanks for your help.
