Got a phone call from Amex "Account Manager"
Hi guys,
I am very worry now, since I got a call from a lady who said that she is account manager at Amex (I didn't pick up because I was at work and it was unknown number, so she left a message) for both my SPG personal and business. 2 calls to different phone number (I did give different phone number for personal and business when applying each), but the voicemail was from same lady, same voice from same person.
I got SPG personal and business last month and have been buying a $500 gift card once a week for each card to meet the minimum spend (total 4 gift cards, separate transaction each week for a month), but I also did a few regular spending here and there in between to balance it out.
I am afraid that this might be the "Amex financial review"? what should I do now, I have 10,000 starpoints already in each account (part of sign up bonus from first purchase). I am afraid that they will close both of my SPG cards and I will lose all the starpoints. Should I transfer all my starpoints from both of cards to airline or other transfer partners in order to avoid losing it?
The lady from Amex (the account manager) didn't say much in the voicemail though, just give me her number and extension and ask me to call her back.
So I just called the department's phone number that listed on the email and they are already closed for today. Called the general customer service rep twice and both of them said they not allowed and cannot tell me what's going on and want me to speak directly with the "account manager" personally...since she is the one who is handling my case and the one who had called me and left a voicemail this morning.
Both of the reps transferred me to the account manager's phone but she is already off for today so I left a voicemail.
I hope this could be resolved smoothly without having my account closed. "Account manager" sounds scary and it's weird that all reps are avoiding my question of what's going on.
Does Amex known to be nosy or strict like this? Compared with other credit card issuers.
I am start to getting anxious now.... anyone has same experience? any tips or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
