Yeah, due to an award I was trying to book sooner than later I dedicated my Aug AP to this card instead of the the SPG spend I'm working on. Thanks for the Gold info. Do you know of anywhere on the Amex or Hilton site that says the date though? My mail goes to the states but I live overseas, so if they send a new Gold card, I probably won't see it.
There is no way to see it online. You would need to call HHonors to verify the expiration date but it should be Mar 2016.
The Gold card does not come until months later (I qualified via spend). There is no need for the physical card which I do not even remember where I put it, let alone bring it on trip. Your status would be reflected in the reservation system as long as you log in to book. Of course if you book on 3rd party site then you would need to call and somehow convince the rep to add your HHonors number to the 3rd party booking.
