Well, that's the thing. Despite the location of our meeting, this isn't really a young crowd. Most of us are well past college age. There might just be a handful of people at this meeting who are still in graduate school. So our sensibilities and tastes won't be those of young people looking for entertainment on a budget. Think conference travelers working on a per diem basis. One of my concerns is that the Latin Quarter won't have much to offer non-students. (And it's been a while since I've stayed in the area. )
Then I would really recommend those 2 places, very good food.

Do you need to ONLY be in that area? Could you move a bit further down?

Mon Vielle Ami is another

Depending on how much you'd like to spend and how adventurous you are.

There is another "establishment" resto down the street on Rue des ecoles, going towards The latin area, next to a very small small small (smaller than the movie theater on Colorado Blvd and Mentor, I think), they serve traditional food. It isn't my taste but you might enjoy it, since they are your typical french place. Will try to find the name for you. http://www.brasseriebalzar.com/en/
