Note, however, that as long as a flight is coded BA, it will count as an eligible flight. It does not actually have to be operated by BA. I am not sure, though, that you will be able to buy any BA-coded flight that might be operated by CX without also buying a longhaul segment, so this is probably of limited use to you.
On rereading the OP's first post, I get the impression that the original reason to go with BA was a doubling of status TPs (my words). Now set straight on this, I suspect that BA no longer is as attractive (certainly not to position to BAH or DOH for his required BA flights.
