Tom Bihn Tri-Star vs. Red Oxx Air Boss
Hello to all,
I've been a lurker for a couple of weeks as I've been in the market for a "one bag" solution. I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two bags. I almost pulled the trigger on the Air Boss, but had one concern. Specifically, I would estimate that 50% of my trips are one-nighters, another 25% are 2-nighters, with the remaining 3 nights +. This does not include vacation travel, which can certainly go for more days (e.g. about to take a 2 week trip to Bulgaria). However the bulk of use will be for what I described above.
Is the Air Boss too much bag for my needs? I don't want to use a sledgehammer to drive in a nail, but at the same time I don't want to be "under gunned" on a trip where, for example, I have a 3-nighter in the winter, need to pack a little heavier for weather. Or perhaps I'm combining a little leisure on the tail end of a couple of work days. I don't want to be in a situation where I wish I had "more bag" with the Tom Bihn, at at the same time don't want the Air Boss to be flopping around on my shoulder as I head off for a quick one nighter.
Thanks in advance. Again I've perused the forums here and found plenty of accolades for both bags, but nothing that really addressed the shorter trips.
