This happened to the guy in front of me as I was queuing to get into the First lounge yesterday, but the lounge angel handled it perfectly, saying to the passenger, with a smile:

"Just one more floor for you sir. Behind you, along the corridor and up the escalator. Don't worry, you're nearly there."

The passenger wasn't a DYKWIA though, he headed towards the escalator.

There was another staffer monitoring the queue and asked me "First or Club World?". I just smiled back "Gold" and he thanked me and moved on.
