1) I thought things that are out of the airlines' control were excluded from the on-time stats, like weather and mechanicals?
2) Even if mechanicals aren't excluded, I just don't see what the OP writing to them will accomplish. Seems to me, that, if the OP writes to DL, he'll get some <valuable> miles as comp for <possible> rudeness, but I just don't see the point in writing to the DOT.
