Not sure if it helps, but a fellow passenger of mine from PVG - DEL carried not just 1 but 2 big sized water dispensing machines (with refrigerators).. I have no idea why and how ? But he was boasting about it being 3-4k cheaper than India, which I am sure he would have paid at customs . Anyway on the topic, it is not a problem and the company packaging is the best. Much much better than your suitcase.
