I have begun cancelling reservations and rebooking. Starwood seems like a better program. Certainly a better points exchange to AA. I'm just pissed that since I made that reservation I have had 25 stays...since February.
First of all, welcome to FT.

Does your email confirmation indicate you must pay a certain number of days prior to arrival? If not, Hilton should honor the confirmation.
