Also I'm half wondering if to swap down to WT+ for the outbound sector to the US, given it's a daytime flight. Would save a couple of hundred pounds and a few points too. Can I do that online (if space is available) or would that need a call as well?
You can either cancel online (£35), wait for the avios and 241 to be redeposited then book again, or call and change (£35 + £15) and the agent can do it all in one go.
A change of class can't be done online, you'd need to call.
