AA's installation of MCE is also instructive. Announced in March, 2012, conversion occurred throughout 2012 and into 2013, and by last summer, the fleet (save for the 772s) had been completed.
Thank you for bringing that up... about the 772s not having MCE yet. So why is that? If there is any aircraft that needs to have MCE, it's one that flies the longest stage lengths in the AA system. So what was AA management thinking? After all, it is such an easy and simple process. Moreover, MCE was on AA's gameplan before the merger was announced. And it was never stated that MCE at US was suppose to have started by now. The only thing they said was that deliveries starting in the Fall would have the AA interiors. And if Parker is going to adopt Horton's floorplan for the 319, then I'm really not in a hurry for the US ones to go into shop, considering that is their largest fleet type. If the new US deliveries don't come with MCE, then I'd start to raise a red flag. Or moreover, if the new deliveries at AA start to not have MCE. But no one has said that the new AA 321s that are just now being put into the system (domestic configuration) don't have MCE.
