It's a perfectly normal practice across airlines.
Available seats on the seatmap and available inventory fir sale are different things entirely.
We're not talking about whether or not a seat is "available" or not. The seat will still be shown, but just not colored in with the appropriate color.
The new seat maps imply the seat does not exist at all. To me, that is different.
