Do you have -- or can you get -- some BAEC Avios? Spending AA miles on an intra-European flight on BA is likely to yield a poor return, considering surcharges on BA metal. But as long as you've earned at least one BAEC Avios within the past twelve months, you can redeem for a "Reward Flight Saver," which charges just one modest co-pay (17.5 GBP, or about $30 USD), in lieu of the surcharge and any departure taxes, as well. So you'd be looking at spending only 4,500 Avios plus that modest co-pay for FRA-LON in Economy.
I do have Avios, but I was looking at this segment as part of a larger itinerary to India to be booked with AA miles.
