This is on an XJ aircraft where they fly with 4 pilots and I don't think they have the bunk on XJ aircraft, so a second GF suite gets taken out of service for crew rest. Guess UA figured the cost of taking an additional GF suite out of service was less than building in a rest bunk.
Why do they have crew rest seats on a flight that is only 7:25 long? Do the pilots really get that tired? AFAIK, they don't have any crew rest seats on narrowbody flights from BOS to LAX and they are 6:25 long.
