I spent $300K+ on my United Club card over the past year. I just saw the $400 annual fee and called in but they refused to credit any part of it. I asked to be transferred to retention but the call was dropped during the transfer and nobody called back. Should I just call back, ask to be transferred to retention, and tell them I'm thinking of canceling my card and what can they offer me to keep it open?
