JNU was still foggy this morning and our pilot made a point of mentioning the advanced instruments on the AS plane that allowed us to get out, and the lack thereof that had the competitor still sitting at the gate
I was very thankful for said instruments, otherwise the rest of my trip could have taken a turn for the worse for sure.
Interesting. So DL was on the ground at JNU but wasn't able to take off without the custom RNP procedures? I thought take-offs in inclement weather were not an issue--that it was only arrivals that were problematic.
Maybe there is a rule about the minimums needing to be enough for an emergency return to the airfield in the event of a problem during take-off...
