On Sunday night's Gold Coast - Sydney flight, a crew member made an unusual announcement. He advised passengers to flush any drugs they may be transporting before the aircraft landed because sniffer dogs would be waiting in the terminal. Many of the passengers were returning from the Splendour in the Grass music festival and there was reportedly a bit of activity near and in the lavs after the announcement. Not all passengers appreciated the announcement. Some had hopped that those carrying illegal substances might get caught.
Jetstar confirmed the .announcement had been made, attributing it to an overzealous, casually employed crew member who chose to .deliver his own quarantine .announcement rather than the pre-recorded one.
