This morning I finally tried the breakfast buffet at the Terrace Room in the Hotel Okura, seeing as it won't be around anymore a little more than a year from now. Wish I had tried it sooner!
I expected it to be slightly-better-than-edible, like the Prince Hotel buffets, but this food tasted quite good. The white omelette that the chef made for me was awesome. The view of the garden and waterfall in the background was fantastic. The fruit tea was a real treat. And how can you not love a breakfast buffet with such staples as mashed potatoes, fruit gratin, and bottomless vodka?
And it was somewhat reasonably priced by current Tokyo hotel breakfast buffet standards at about 3500 yen. If I were staying at the Andaz Tokyo and breakfast wasn't included in the rate, I'd prefer to walk over to the Hotel Okura for their buffet rather than pay an extra 1200 yen at the Tavern.
I suppose I'll have to try the French Toast at the Orchid Room sometime as well.
