I tried to check in here today at 3pm - the stated checkin time - but was told my room wasn't available yet. The reason given was that I'd been upgraded to a "Mega" room and the SPG Platinum guest in the room had a let checkout and hadn't left yet. As I walked away from the front desk a notification popped up on my phone - the SPG app created Passbook card had updated with my room number. So I was pleased that my room had been assigned and I could come back later and check in.
Fast forward to 5pm and I get a call from the hotel telling my room is ready. I go back to the hotel, get the keys and go up to the room... And it's a "Wonderful" room. Now I can't really complain, because this is the type of room I booked, but I don't know why the Front Desk would lie to me, telling me I have a "Mega" room, when the know from assigning the room that it isn't.
