Cathay pacific did NOT extend exit row seating to my travelling companion last month, but they were on a separate PNR. But certainly worth trying to see what they will do if you call.
through check of bags should be no problem. present both tickets at your first check-in.
best seat for 2? exit rows obviously, but failing that, the configuration in 2-4-2, so really any double seat is just fine. You can refine your preference further to be front/rear/close to WC or whatever as your needs dictate.
^! Thanks for the response. I'll give CX a call this afternoon and see what I can do on the exit row front and otherwise just snag a pair of the "2" seats.
Good suggestion on the business class lounge as well - I'm flying in on the AA flight so I'll take a look when things get closer to see where the connecting flight will be relative to the AA flight. Our upgrades for the return (HKG - DFW) are looking dicey so that's when I'll really need the CX FC lounge so I can prepare adequately for 16 hours in MCE
