Don't open an AA advantage account though, you will not get the TPs if you credit to the AA programme. Certain people around here could have been LT GGL already if they had avoided signing on to AA....(not me though, I hasten to add)
You can log onto their app with just your booking code and name.
As highlighted when you make an AA booking just add your BA number and all tier points and miles come through eventually.
I have not found a way to get them to appear in the BA.com but not an issue. The AA app is pretty good just stick your name and record locator in to get the mobile boarding pass etc.
You do not need an AA account! I have one but do not book anything to it anymore as AA are recognising OW status very well now.
