I've heard the mid-field security re-check can be a CF. I have GE and should therefore also have TSA Pre.

Thanks!
I don't think that you're going to have a substantial time savings or less hassle by going to the main terminal.

I just did this last week: mid-afternoon arrival with a several hour layover with a visit to the LH lounge. Differences being that I had a checked bag that I had to wait to reclaim and re-check. I almost always get an "X" on my GE slip (bad fingerprint readings) so that I have to go jump the line at Immigration and I always opt-out at the TSA security check. From the time I walked off the plane, did all of the other things, and finally went up the escalator from security to the terminal, it was probably an elapsed time of 30 minutes. I had plenty of time in the lounge.

Since you don't have to wait for luggage and probably don't opt-out, you'll be through a lot quicker than me. Also, whereas, you have GE, you'll probably get PRE, I'm assuming you know that GE does not 100% guarantee that you will, in fact, get PRE. That happened to me several months ago and I've had GE almost since it started.
