Aside from the similar amounts spent, did the pattern of spend differ between your wife and you?
I notice that frequent usage of the card, even not in any meaningful amount, i.e. only a few K's a year but use it almost everyday, easily got you the $100 statement credit. So for those of you who are big spenders, may be you would enhance the offer by spreading out your spend thru out the year.
