I know that on TPAC flights, UA provides a mid-flight snack, so there is clearly a service distinction between TPAC and TATL flights. But does it go beyond that at all?
For example, DL (I know it is already a mistake to draw a comparison of service) tailors their ex-NRT flights. Those going to the west coast (SEA, SFO, LAX, SLC) get a cold breakfast on arrival, whereas those going to DTW, JFK, ATL get a hot breakfast, etc.
The J service I'm used to on the 12-hour China-USA flights include the standard dinner with the cold plate, salad, entree, cheese, and ice cream. Mid flight I suppose there is some kind of snack, but I can't remember if it's plated or if they just put out a buffet for grazing in the front (I'm usually asleep, and any insight would be appreciated). Of course there is the pre-arrival hot breakfast which seems to be the same on all UA INTL flights worldwide.
Is this the exact same service I can expect on the HKG-ORD flight? Or is there any change at all in service due to the Ultra-Long Haul status of the flight?
Thanks!
Not really any change in the service. There may have been more plentiful of a mid-flight snack setup on the cart in the middle of the cabin when I did the flight last year. Also, noodle soup was available to those who wanted it brought to their seats.
