I'm planning my first trip to Vegas this coming January for CES and I'm looking for some help. The hotels are all absurdly pricey that week (which isn't a surprise I guess), but I've narrowed it down to the following:

Tropicana: 735.63 for 5 nights - I have Hilton gold benefits here.
Ballys: 700.03 for 5 nights - free breakfast.
Excalibur: $656.71 for 5 nights - I Have MLife gold here and I would be in the contemporary tower.

The nights are 1/5 - 1/10 and I want to stay on the strip. I found non strip hotels for much cheaper, however, since this is my first trip to Vegas I'd like it to be on the strip.

So, has anyone ever stayed at any of these hotels? If so, which would you recommend?
