For me it's been a mixed bag the last few times. Sometimes they wave me through and sometimes they wave me over and ask questions, although when I do get asked a couple questions at CBP it only takes an extra min.

It also depends on priority security at the transboarder side, if you have that it usually saves a ton of time. If you don't, add time.

Yes it is quite the distance for sure, you need to move quick and walk with purpose.
